Indian markets started the new week on a positive note after eight consecutive weekly declines. The Nifty 50 gained 133.80 points, or 0.60%, to close at 22,555.75 on Monday, while the Sensex rose 472.77 points, or 0.66%, to 72,382.47. The rebound was supported by easing concerns over aggressive US Federal Reserve tightening after weaker-than-expected US jobs data, along with a decline in crude oil prices. Financial stocks also gained after several banks reported strong September-quarter business updates.
Despite Monday’s recovery, foreign institutional selling remains a major concern. FIIs remained net sellers, while domestic institutions continued to provide strong buying support. Investors will also watch the RBI policy decision and the latest September-quarter business updates as the earnings season gathers momentum.
FII/DII Activity
| Investor | Gross Purchase | Gross Sale | Net Flow |
|---|---|---|---|
| FII | ₹15,675 crore | ₹20,374 crore | -₹4,699 crore |
| DII | ₹20,493 crore | ₹15,311 crore | +₹5,182 crore |
FIIs have now remained net sellers in both trading sessions of October, while DIIs have continued to offset a significant portion of the foreign outflows.

Axis Bank
Axis Bank reported strong growth in its September-quarter business update. Gross advances increased 22.7% year-on-year and 8.8% sequentially to ₹13.85 lakh crore, while total deposits rose 20.7% year-on-year to ₹14.52 lakh crore. CASA balances increased 10.6% year-on-year to ₹5.30 lakh crore. The strong growth across loans and deposits gives investors an early indication of the bank’s operating momentum ahead of its full quarterly results.
Kotak Mahindra Bank
Kotak Mahindra Bank reported 24.7% year-on-year growth in net advances to ₹5.77 lakh crore during the September quarter. Total deposits increased 23.2% to ₹6.51 lakh crore, while CASA deposits rose 11.3% to ₹2.49 lakh crore. The numbers indicate continued balance-sheet expansion and make the stock one of the key private-bank names to track as the September-quarter earnings season gets underway.
Godrej Consumer Products
Godrej Consumer Products expects a strong performance in the September quarter despite uneven monsoon conditions and higher commodity-linked input costs. The company expects consolidated revenue growth in the high teens, underlying volume growth in the high single digits and EBITDA growth in double digits. Its standalone business is also expected to deliver revenue growth in the teens. The update makes the stock relevant for investors tracking the strength of consumer demand and the impact of rising input costs on margins.
Juniper Hotels
Juniper Hotels has signed a binding memorandum of understanding with Imagicaaworld Entertainment to acquire the operating Novotel Imagicaa hotel in Khopoli, Maharashtra, for ₹248 crore. The property has 287 rooms and is spread across approximately 11 acres. The proposed acquisition expands Juniper Hotels’ operating portfolio and gives the company another asset in the hospitality and leisure segment.

Metropolis Healthcare
Metropolis Healthcare reported approximately 15% year-on-year growth in revenue for the September quarter, supported by double-digit growth in patient and test volumes, improved realisations and a favourable product mix. EBITDA margins also improved both year-on-year and sequentially, helped by operating leverage and efficiency gains. The update provides an early indication of demand and operating performance in the diagnostic-services business.
AWL Agri Business
AWL Agri Business delivered 24% year-on-year revenue growth in the September quarter, while volumes increased 12%. Its Food & FMCG business recorded 33% revenue growth and crossed ₹2,000 crore in quarterly revenue for the first time. Industry essentials volumes rose 25%, while branded exports recorded 59% volume growth. The broad-based performance across food, exports and industry essentials makes the update an important trigger for the company.
Marico
Marico has acquired an additional 24.09% stake in Satiya Nutraceuticals, increasing its holding from 60% to 84.09% on a fully diluted basis. The aggregate consideration for the 84.09% holding stands at ₹1,392.07 crore, with the remaining 14.09% stake held by the founder and certain other shareholders expected to be acquired for ₹592 crore in July 2027. The transaction strengthens Marico’s ownership in the nutraceutical business and is relevant to its strategy of expanding beyond its traditional consumer-product portfolio.
Zydus Lifesciences
Zydus Lifesciences has partnered with MSN Laboratories to launch generic riociguat tablets in the United States across five strengths ranging from 0.5 mg to 2.5 mg. The companies are the first to launch a generic version of Adempas in the US market. Riociguat is indicated for adults with persistent or recurrent chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension following surgical treatment. The launch gives Zydus another product opportunity in the US generics market.

JSW Energy
JSW Energy has added 1,694 MW of installed capacity since April 2026, including approximately 1.4 GW of renewable capacity. Following these additions, the company’s total installed capacity has reached 15,147 MW. The expansion underlines the company’s continued shift toward renewable power generation and provides an important operational update as investors track its capacity-growth strategy.
Monday’s market rebound provided some relief after the prolonged September correction, but the underlying environment remains mixed. Falling crude prices and softer US employment data improved global sentiment, while heavy FII selling continues to act as a counterweight. On the company side, strong Q2 business updates from banks and consumer companies, retail expansion at Trent, Marico’s nutraceutical acquisition and fresh healthcare and renewable-energy developments will remain key stock-specific triggers for Tuesday’s session.
