Market Overview
The Indian market ended Thursday lower, with the Nifty 50 falling 0.48% to 24,090.85 and the Sensex declining 0.70% to 76,933.59. The weakness came despite softer oil prices and mixed-to-positive global cues.
Institutional activity provided some support underneath the market. On August 27, FIIs were net sellers of approximately ₹298.3 crore, while DIIs were net buyers of around ₹4,977.2 crore.
The market will also be watching global technology cues after Nvidia reported strong results and gave an upbeat outlook. However, Asian markets were mixed early Friday, while US equity futures were slightly lower after the initial post-Nvidia enthusiasm moderated.
Crude oil prices remain another important factor for Indian markets. Lower crude prices can influence the outlook for oil-sensitive sectors, while currency movement and global bond yields remain important macro factors.
The Indian market is open for trading on August 28, despite Raksha Bandhan. NSE and BSE will operate normally, with regular equity-market timings.
