Top 10 Indian Market News Today: Swiggy, Cyient, Havells and More

Fresh September-quarter results and company disclosures put a new set of Indian stocks in focus on Friday, October 23. The updates cover earnings, dividends, regulatory developments and business performance.

1. Swiggy’s revenue grows 36% as quarterly loss narrows year on year

Swiggy reported a consolidated net loss of ₹922 crore for Q2 FY27, narrower than its ₹1,092 crore loss a year earlier. Revenue rose 36.1% to ₹7,571 crore. The comparison with the previous quarter was less favourable: the loss widened from ₹791 crore in Q1. Food delivery adjusted EBITDA improved to ₹341 crore, while quick-commerce expansion continued to weigh on earnings. Instamart added 69 dark stores, taking its network to 1,240.

2. Cyient reports lower profit and declares a ₹12 interim dividend

Cyient’s consolidated profit after tax fell 7.3% year on year to ₹132.5 crore, even as total income increased 22.5% to ₹2,243.6 crore. The engineering and technology company declared an interim dividend of ₹12 per share. Its results show stronger business activity alongside lower reported profit, bringing margins and the effect of investment spending into focus.

3. HPCL returns to profit after a heavy first-quarter loss

Hindustan Petroleum Corporation reported consolidated Q2 profit of ₹3,625 crore, down about 6% from a year earlier. That still marked a sharp sequential recovery from the ₹12,265 crore loss recorded in Q1. Revenue increased about 26% year on year to roughly ₹1.39 lakh crore. Investors will compare the improvement in quarterly earnings with the weaker first-half picture.

4. Havells’ revenue rises 35%, but costs also climb

Havells India posted consolidated net profit of ₹349.2 crore, up 9.7% year on year, while revenue grew 34.6% to ₹6,432 crore. The cables business led the reported growth, and the company’s newer renewables segment contributed revenue. Total expenses rose at a similar pace to sales, while its Lloyd consumer business continued to report a segment loss.

5. Colgate India grows sales, with margin pressure still visible

Colgate-Palmolive (India) reported September-quarter net profit of ₹341.5 crore, up 4% year on year, and revenue of ₹1,705.7 crore, up around 12%. EBITDA increased only about 2%, and the EBITDA margin narrowed to 28% from 31% a year earlier. The results point to continued demand in its core oral-care business, while costs and profitability per rupee of sales remain important to watch.

6. Sagility reports double-digit revenue growth and stronger margins

Healthcare services provider Sagility reported revenue of ₹2,032 crore, up 22.5% year on year. Adjusted EBITDA increased 23% to ₹535 crore, with the adjusted EBITDA margin at 26.3%. The company also reported higher quarterly profit. Investors will assess whether the revenue growth and margin performance can continue as the company expands services for healthcare payers and providers.

7. Adani Total Gas lifts profit on higher CNG and PNG volumes

Adani Total Gas reported consolidated net profit of ₹173.3 crore for Q2 FY27, up about 6% year on year. Revenue rose 34% to around ₹1,936 crore, supported by higher CNG and piped natural gas volumes and expansion in newer businesses. EBITDA increased, although the margin was lower than a year earlier. 8. Adani Energy Solutions’ profit more than doubles

Adani Energy Solutions reported consolidated Q2 profit of ₹1,323 crore, up 148% year on year, with revenue growth also reported. The increase included a tax-related gain, so the headline rise does not represent operating growth alone. Investors will look at the underlying transmission and distribution performance, project commissioning and recurring earnings to judge the quarter’s operating trend.

9. Jindal Stainless raises profit but trims FY27 volume outlook

Jindal Stainless reported Q2 consolidated profit of ₹898 crore, up 11.1% year on year, on net revenue of ₹12,874 crore, up 18.2%. Finished-goods sales volume increased 2.5%. Alongside the results, the company lowered its volume-growth guidance for FY27. The combination of profit growth and a more cautious volume outlook makes demand and export trends key points in the next update.

10. Nippon Life India AMC’s profit falls after a one-time settlement charge

Nippon Life India Asset Management reported quarterly profit of ₹324.4 crore, down about 6% year on year, after recording a one-time ₹96.76 crore settlement charge related to a legacy regulatory matter. The company said it received in-principle approval from SEBI for the settlement and was awaiting a formal order. Average assets under management rose 20% to ₹7.87 lakh crore, while operating profit increased 25%.

What investors will watch next

Today’s fresh company updates show why headline sales growth and profit growth can diverge. Costs, margins, exceptional items and changes to guidance shaped several of these results. Investors will look for follow-through in operating performance and for management commentary to clarify whether recent changes are temporary or likely to carry into the second half of FY27.
