Karan joined a WhatsApp group called Sure Shot Tips because a stranger promised 300% returns by Friday. On Monday the admin posted a stock with a rocket emoji, and Karan bought ₹5,000 worth.
On Tuesday came another rocket. By Wednesday the group had 400 members, and every one of them had bought the first stock. By Thursday the admin had quietly left.
Karan stayed, mostly to see who would switch off the lights. His only profit was a rule he now tells everyone: when a tip arrives with a rocket emoji, the only thing taking off is the admin.
