ESDS Software Solution has emerged as one of the more closely watched newly listed technology companies, combining cloud computing, data-centre infrastructure, managed services and artificial intelligence capabilities. The company has attracted significant market attention following its listing and subsequent share-price movement, but the bigger question now is whether its business growth can keep pace with the valuation investors are assigning to the stock.
A Business Built Around Cloud and Data Infrastructure
ESDS operates across Infrastructure-as-a-Service, managed services and Software-as-a-Service. Its offerings include cloud infrastructure, data-centre services, cybersecurity, managed IT services and software solutions. The company also provides GPU-as-a-Service, positioning itself to participate in the rapidly expanding demand for computing infrastructure required by artificial intelligence applications.
Its business model is increasingly moving beyond traditional data-centre hosting. The company has developed its SWARAJ Cloud platform, which brings together cloud services across hybrid and multi-cloud environments, while SWARAJ AI is designed for AI, machine-learning and generative-AI workloads. This gives ESDS exposure to several layers of the digital infrastructure ecosystem rather than depending on a single technology product.
Financial Performance Has Improved Sharply
ESDS reported operating revenue of about ₹472 crore in FY26, compared with around ₹361 crore in FY25. Profit after tax increased to approximately ₹121 crore from about ₹56 crore, while operating profitability also improved significantly. CRISIL said the company’s operating margin expanded to around 49% in FY26 from approximately 43% in the previous year.

The improvement has been supported by new customer additions, increased business from existing customers and greater operating leverage as the company’s infrastructure is utilised across a larger revenue base. Its customer base includes businesses, government organisations and BFSI companies, giving the company exposure to several areas of India’s digitalisation cycle.
The AI Opportunity Is the Biggest Growth Driver
The most significant future opportunity for ESDS is its expansion into AI infrastructure. The company has entered into a long-term agreement connected to the deployment of a dedicated cluster of approximately 8,208 NVIDIA B300 GPUs in Australia. The agreement has an aggregate potential value of around $1.25 billion over five years, with an option for an additional two years. Revenue from the project is expected to begin during FY27.
If the project is successfully commissioned and customer demand develops as planned, it could substantially change the scale of ESDS’s business. The company would be able to offer GPU computing capacity along with its existing cloud and managed-service capabilities, creating a larger opportunity in the AI infrastructure market.
However, the contract should not simply be treated as immediate revenue. The company needs to deploy the required infrastructure, achieve the expected utilisation and generate sustainable economics from the capacity. CRISIL has specifically identified the timely ramp-up of the new capacity and revenue generation as important factors to monitor.

Why the Valuation Is Now Important
This is where the “premium price” part of the ESDS story becomes important. The company’s business prospects have improved, but its valuation has also risen sharply following its market debut. The shares listed at ₹757 on the NSE against an IPO price of ₹429, and subsequent trading pushed the stock significantly higher. Recent market data showed the valuation at substantially elevated earnings multiples compared with broader IT-sector benchmarks.
At such valuations, future growth expectations become increasingly important. Strong revenue growth alone may not be enough if the market has already priced in a substantial expansion in earnings. Investors therefore need to watch whether the AI infrastructure business begins contributing at the expected pace and whether profitability remains healthy as the company scales.
What Investors Should Monitor
The next few quarters could provide important evidence about ESDS’s growth trajectory. Revenue from the new AI infrastructure, GPU utilisation, data-centre capacity expansion, operating margins and cash generation will all be important indicators.
Working-capital requirements also deserve attention because data-centre and cloud infrastructure businesses can require substantial investment before new capacity starts generating revenue. The company’s ability to maintain a healthy balance sheet while expanding its infrastructure will therefore be an important part of the longer-term story.

Competition is another factor. ESDS operates in markets that include established cloud providers, data-centre operators and technology companies with significant financial resources. Its ability to differentiate through integrated cloud, GPU, managed-service and software offerings will matter as competition increases.
The Bigger Picture
ESDS Software Solution sits at the intersection of several major technology trends: cloud adoption, data-centre expansion, cybersecurity and artificial intelligence. Its improving financial performance and planned AI infrastructure expansion provide a potentially significant growth runway.
At the same time, the company’s valuation means investors are already paying close attention to its future execution. The central question is therefore not simply whether the AI and cloud opportunity exists, but whether ESDS can convert that opportunity into revenue, profits and cash flow at a pace that supports the valuation.
For the coming quarters, the company’s AI infrastructure rollout, customer additions, utilisation levels and profitability will be key indicators of whether its growth story is developing as expected.
