Monday’s after-close earnings releases brought fresh financial results from chip-design software, computing infrastructure and steel manufacturing. Cadence, Celestica and Nucor all reported higher third-quarter revenue, but their profit performance differed considerably. Cadence’s reported earnings barely increased, Celestica delivered substantial growth alongside lower reported margins, and Nucor more than doubled earnings attributable to shareholders.
This October 27 update covers results released after the US market closed on Monday, October 26, 2026. All financial amounts are in USD. Comparisons are year over year unless otherwise stated, with percentage changes calculated from reported figures where necessary.
Cadence: Revenue Rises 22%, but Reported EPS Remains Flat
Cadence reported third-quarter revenue of $1.633 billion, compared with $1.339 billion a year earlier, an increase of approximately 22%. GAAP net income reached $289.7 million, up approximately 0.9% from $287.1 million. Diluted earnings per share remained unchanged at $1.05, showing that the increase in sales did not translate into comparable growth in reported shareholder earnings.
The difference was visible in operating profitability. GAAP operating margin declined to 26.2% from 31.8%, while operating income increased only slightly to $428.7 million from $425.4 million. Items excluded from the company’s adjusted presentation account for the gap between reported and non-GAAP earnings.

Non-GAAP diluted EPS increased to $2.11 from $1.93, a gain of approximately 9.3%. However, adjusted operating margin also declined, reaching 44.1% compared with 47.6%.
Cadence ended the quarter with an $8.2 billion backlog. The results show revenue growing faster than reported profit.
Celestica: Revenue Surges 83%, Net Income Climbs 48%
Celestica reported third-quarter revenue of $5.830 billion, up approximately 83% from $3.194 billion. GAAP net earnings increased to $397.2 million from $267.8 million, representing growth of approximately 48.3%. Diluted EPS rose to $3.26 from $2.31, an increase of approximately 41.1%.
Connectivity and Cloud Solutions generated $4.87 billion in revenue, up 102%, while Advanced Technology Solutions revenue increased 23% to $960 million. These figures show that growth extended across both reporting segments, with cloud and connectivity providing the larger contribution.

Adjusted diluted EPS increased to $3.30 from $1.58, approximately 109% higher. Adjusted operating margin expanded to 8.5% from 7.6%, but the GAAP operating margin declined to 7.9% from 10.2%.
That contrast requires attention. The prior-year quarter included a substantial favorable fair-value adjustment associated with total-return swaps, whereas the latest quarter recorded a loss on that item. Consequently, reported and adjusted profit growth followed different paths. Celestica’s sales expansion was substantial, but its GAAP net margin declined to 6.8% from 8.4%, illustrating why revenue growth and profit conversion need to be assessed separately.
Nucor: Net Earnings More Than Double as Steel Profitability Improves
Nucor reported third-quarter net sales of $11.249 billion, compared with $8.521 billion a year earlier, an increase of approximately 32%. Net earnings attributable to Nucor stockholders reached $1.319 billion, up approximately 117.3% from $607 million. Diluted EPS increased to $5.80 from $2.63, rising approximately 120.5%.
The results cover the 13 weeks ended October 3, 2026, compared with the corresponding period ended October 4, 2025. This reporting calendar differs from the September-end quarters reported by Cadence and Celestica.

Nucor’s consolidated average external selling price increased 19% to $1,493 per ton, while sales volumes to external customers rose 11% to approximately 7.53 million tons. Both pricing and volume therefore contributed to the revenue increase.
Steel-mill earnings before income taxes and noncontrolling interests rose to $1.788 billion from $793 million. Steel-products earnings on the same basis increased to $465 million from $319 million.
The company ended the quarter with $3.64 billion in cash, cash equivalents and short-term investments. Its results show earnings growing substantially faster than sales, supported by stronger segment profitability. The stockholder-attributable net-income figure should be distinguished from earnings before noncontrolling interests, which include profits belonging to other investors.
