By 9:04 she refreshed the app and stared at the balance, which looked like a phone number someone had cut short. She laughed, because crying would have required a data pack. Then she opened a notes app and wrote a new rule: pay yourself first. Next month, at 9:01, ₹5,000 slipped into savings before anyone else could reach it. The credit card was furious.
