Nebius Group (NASDAQ: NBIS) is emerging as one of the more closely watched companies in the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure market. Unlike semiconductor companies that design GPUs or networking chips, Nebius operates on the cloud infrastructure side of the AI ecosystem, providing large-scale computing capacity for companies developing and deploying artificial intelligence applications. Its growth story is closely connected to the increasing demand for GPUs, AI training, inference and specialized cloud infrastructure.
What Does Nebius Do?
Nebius describes itself as an AI cloud company building a full-stack platform for developers and enterprises, covering everything from data and model training to production deployment. The business is designed specifically around AI workloads rather than adapting a traditional general-purpose cloud platform to artificial intelligence. Its infrastructure uses large quantities of accelerated computing hardware, including NVIDIA systems, while its software platform is designed to help customers operate AI workloads at scale.
The opportunity comes from a fundamental bottleneck in the AI industry. Companies may have access to advanced AI models, but they still require enormous amounts of computing power to train models and run inference. Building that infrastructure internally can require billions of dollars of capital, specialized engineering expertise and access to sufficient power. AI cloud providers such as Nebius attempt to solve this problem by providing computing capacity as an infrastructure service.
Rapid Revenue Growth
Nebius has experienced extremely rapid growth as AI demand has accelerated. In the second quarter of 2026, group revenue reached $582.3 million, representing a 454% increase from the same quarter a year earlier. Nebius AI Cloud generated $574.9 million during the quarter, up 514% year over year and accounting for approximately 98% of total group revenue. Its annualized run-rate revenue reached approximately $3 billion at the end of June.

This growth has also come with significant spending. Nebius is investing heavily in GPUs, data-center infrastructure, engineering and new capacity, which has caused operating expenses and depreciation to rise sharply. At the same time, adjusted EBITDA improved substantially, reaching $236.2 million in the second quarter compared with an adjusted EBITDA loss of $21 million a year earlier. The company therefore remains in an aggressive expansion phase where capacity investment is being made ahead of a much larger potential revenue base.
NVIDIA Partnership Strengthens the AI Infrastructure Story
One of the most important developments for Nebius is its relationship with NVIDIA. In March 2026, NVIDIA announced a strategic partnership with Nebius and committed a $2 billion investment. The companies said they would collaborate on AI-factory design, infrastructure deployment, inference and fleet management, with Nebius planning to deploy more than five gigawatts of NVIDIA systems by the end of 2030.
The partnership is significant because NVIDIA is not simply supplying hardware. The companies are working together across the AI infrastructure stack, potentially giving Nebius access to new NVIDIA computing platforms and technical support as it expands its AI cloud. This positions Nebius as part of NVIDIA’s broader ecosystem of companies building infrastructure around accelerated computing.
Palantir Partnership Expands Enterprise Opportunity
Nebius has also recently expanded its enterprise opportunity through a strategic partnership with Palantir Technologies. In September 2026, Palantir named Nebius its preferred sovereign AI infrastructure partner. Following integration, eligible Palantir customers will be able to access Nebius compute and inference infrastructure within the Palantir enterprise environment while retaining control over their computing resources, data and AI models.

The partnership could help Nebius move beyond AI-native developers and reach more enterprises that require greater control over their data and AI infrastructure. The companies also plan to accelerate new computing capacity, including modular data-center deployments at locations where power is already available. However, the announcement did not disclose a contract value or guaranteed revenue commitment, so the financial impact of the partnership remains uncertain.
The Business Opportunity and Major Risks
Nebius operates in a market where demand for AI computing could remain substantial for years as enterprises, AI developers and technology companies increase their use of model training and inference. Its combination of dedicated AI infrastructure, NVIDIA technology, rapidly expanding capacity and growing enterprise relationships gives the company multiple avenues for expansion.
However, the business is highly capital intensive. Building AI data centers requires large investments in GPUs, power, networking equipment and facilities. Nebius has already raised substantial financing to support its expansion, including approximately $775 million through its first secured debt facility and a much larger convertible-note financing in August 2026. Rapid expansion also creates execution risks, while changes in GPU pricing, utilization, customer concentration and AI infrastructure demand could affect future margins and cash flow.
Nebius Stock Outlook
Nebius represents a different way to participate in the AI boom. Instead of developing foundation models or competing directly with NVIDIA in chip design, the company is building the computing infrastructure required to train and deploy AI systems. Its explosive revenue growth, NVIDIA partnership and expanding enterprise relationships have made NBIS an important company to watch in the AI cloud market.

The key issue for investors is whether Nebius can translate its rapid infrastructure expansion and contracted demand into sustainable revenue, cash flow and profitability while managing the enormous capital requirements of AI data centers. Its growth opportunity is significant, but so are the execution, financing and valuation risks that come with operating in one of the most capital-intensive parts of the AI ecosystem.
